Rooted in the
Deep North
I'm Tuomas M. Mäkelä, a graphic designer based in Oulu, Northern Finland. For over two decades I've worked in visual identity, web, and digital design, much of that time as an entrepreneur handling branding, web design, and digital marketing for clients across many fields.
More recently my focus has shifted toward research and technology organisations. 3D graphics is a more recent thread, one I picked up this decade, while video has been part of my work for far longer.
Alongside design I compose music. It's a parallel practice that carries the same sense of structure and mood into the visual work.
